He had been in that scary arena with katniss, killing and watching kids like him die terribly and so unfairly, and the only good thing, the only light in the middle of this was Katniss, how she was with him and how she cared about him, protected him.
I mean, he was ‘useless’ to his family, like he said, he wouldn’t be missed after a while, and Katniss seemed like so much more, like she really, truly loved him and needed him.
And she saved him, and after all that he finds out her feelings weren’t real, that he is more alone than ever, that the only good thing in his life that moment was fake.
I just, I… I can’t.
